    Here is some info.. It's only Word.. Excel is fine.

    I opened the file, made changes and saved ti fine on my laptop.

    The user complaining about the issue logged into my laptop and it took almost 2 minutes to save the file.

    I have Windows 7 (32 bit) Office 2003 .

    I was able to expereience the same issue using a test account.

    I created new groups in AD. I replaced the permissions on the shared folder.

    I created a new folder.. created new files.. Same thing.. The testuser waits 2 minutes to save.. and it takes me about 20 seconds.

    I was able to expierence the same results on a Windows XP 32 bit computer as well.

    I tried a third computer Windws 7 64 bit and both myself and the test account were able to save the file in 20 seconds.

    Any thoughts suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..

    Hi

    According to your description, we could try exiting Word, deleting or rename the "normal.dot" file.

    To find the file “normal.dot”, refer to the following steps:

    Click on Start>Search>All Files & Folders and type normal.dot

    After restart Word, the program will recreate your normal.dot.
