How to use GPO or any else setting to set user home folder to another location RRS feed

  • Question

  • My scenario is

I have users in AD, and I want to login to machine use AD users

But I hope the users home folder is in D:\, not in C:\users\

like, Documents, Downloads, etc folder, all created in D:\{username}\

    No C:\users\{username}\ exists.

    1. Although I enable GPO,  set user home folder, policy to D:\

I login to the machine, and it still creates home folder in C:\users\

        Nothing folder in D:\

    2. I try another method, edit users properties in AD, to set User profile and home folder to D:\

it still can not create home folder in D:\

Does it has another method to match my scenario??

MY AD is windows 2012R2, Machine is windows 10

    Many thanks!!
