Windows 7 Updates 12-12-12 cause performance issues RRS feed

• Question

• I am having the problems with updates that we did late 12/11/2012 / early 12/12/2012 on my computer as. Windows update had 12 recommended updates and 2 optional (one was the Bing Bar which I didn't install). After the updates were installed, My internet became VERY slow and kept getting "hung up" to the point I had to disconnect & reconnect over and over again. (I use the Verizon USB551L to connect). When I checked the Event Viewer there were multiple "Event ID 1006, DNS Client Events,

The client was unable to validate the following as active DNS server(s) that can service this client. The server(s) may be temporarily unavailable, or may be incorrectly configured. 2001:4888:2:fffe:a0:d:0:3

I have done a System Restore back to the time prior to the updates and am wondering what is causing this problem before I install the updates again.

Updates installed were: KB982726, KB2687501, KB2687510, KIB2760410, KB2598242, KB2761465, KB2753842, KB2758857, KB2770660, KB2779030, KB2779563, KB8900830, and KB931125. I have no idea which one(s) could be causing the issue. I originally posted this on Microsoft answers. Have not had any helpful replies yet, however there are several others having issues with updates from that day as well. Here is the link if you'd like to look at the other issues: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/latest-automatic-updates-for-windows-7/417e7ca1-3dda-414b-81fe-9ad069beff3b

My computer keeps prompting me to reinstall these updates but I need to know what is causing the performance issue(s) before I do that so I am hopeful someone has already had this issue and found a solution.

• I too am experiencing a problem similar to yours, Crystal. I did a Windows Update and when the Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems goes in it throws my display off. I end up with an error message when the PC goes to screen saver as well that says, "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible w/ Direct3d. I've done a system restore as well and this is frustrating the heck out of me. I am wondering if this is just a corrupt update since you are having issues as well.

• I work doing tech support for a small company... after the most recent security
updates 2783534, 2761465, 2770660, 2758857, 2779030.
I have seen a
number of my customers experience issues with their computers. Most noticeably
their Bluetooth (external) is not operating normally. It will not maintain a
connection to the device, some experiencing a disconnect after 5 mins. These
are professional people relying on their technology to work properly. Some are
even experiencing a disconnect with the USB cables.

How can we contact Microsoft directly with these issues???

I have been uninstalling all of these updates... and plan on advising my clients to do the
same!! Please resolve this issue as quick as possible!!
