  • At its simplest, to create a bootable USB from a properly configured deployment share:

Format your usb drive with Windows 7 or 8. That will tell the boot sector to look for the windows boot files on startup.

Navigate to your deployment shares Boot folder, and locate the LiteTouch boot ISO. Not the WIM, but the ISO. Assuming you made one. If not, make one now.

Using 7-Zip, extract the contents of the ISO to the root of your USB drive.

You should now have these folders on the root of your USB drive.

      \Boot

      \EFI

      \Sources

Thats it. It should now be bootable, and run the same as a PXE booted image.

This assumes your share and boot images already have the driver support needed to boot Macs and use the network cards.
