  •   A DLL (Dynamic Link Library) contains software routines (think of these as small programs) that may be loaded and executed by the rundll32.exe program.  This may be done so that routines used by multiple programs (and often by Windows itself) don't have to be built into every executable program that might use them.  (This is a little over simplified but should give a good basic picture.)

Apparently your games (which you didn't specify) require Internet access to run and the game program is loading some function from a DLL that checks for, or manages, the connection.

  • Hi Skylooker.

rundll32.exe is part of Windows and is used to run program code in DLL files as if they were within the actual program; it is loaded and started either from the C:\Windows\System32 or from the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
A DLL (Dynamic Link Library) file contains software routines and resources that may be needed by one or more program running in the system; those objects are packaged in DLL files in order for the programs to be able to load and use them and rundll32.exe allows program to invoke a function or to use one or more objects that are exported or packaged in a DLL file.
The rundll32.exe utility is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 164787.

    Bye.

  • But in real the game is not multiplayer game and never reuire connection, its old PC Game

I, Didnt Specifed cause its more than one gmae, like Stronghold Crusader, and many more

If that files manages some connecion files, what its problem for restricting the game from run without internet, althoug the game didnt require internet?

Strangely it is not restricting, but hiding the game and the game process keep waiting, until the annoying rundll32.exe connect then termiate itself then the game appear and run..!!

*Do u know, that file may make the game auto start, after hours, days whenenver the internet available!

  • Are the games in question free, or did you have to enter some kind of registration key?  If the latter maybe they check for licensing.

Do they use any common engine like Steam?

  • No the games not asking for register, or licensince, and never use steam or online services, its all simple games like about 2GB games size, and too puplar if u search for game like (Stronghold cruaders) as 1 example of many games..
