Do indexes in the relational database matter? RRS feed

    Hi,

     

    I ask this question because the level of the queries run in my cube are very low. in other words, they go to very detailed information. In this case according to profiler the data is read from the partition and not from aggregation. Does this mean the cube is reading the relational database and then I should be careful with indexes in there?

    Only in HOLAP or ROLAP storage SSAS can read data from relational database and we can tune response with creating indexes, partition, metarialized view  etc. in relational source. For Molap data located in SSAS site , but if your query is detailed aggregate isn't used.
