Skype for Business Online federation Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We have set up one SfB online only (No on-Prem or hybrid) infrastructure for our client. Following are the external communication settings.

external access: On only for allowed domains

Public IM connectivity: Let people use Skype for Business to communicate with Skype users outside your organization: enabled

Also, we have added our partner domain name (eg: abc.com) in the allowed list. Federated partner also has done the configuration from their side, he have cross verified their federation setting as well. But still users are not able to see the presence info or not able to chat with the federated users.

Federated partner is getting the below given error. Can you please have a look at the error message -and let me know if we have missed any configuration in SfB online portal.

    SIP/2.0 504 Server time-out message:

ms-diagnostics: 1028;reason="Domain resolved by DNS SRV to a configured hosting service but the domain is not in the allow list";domain="ourdomain.com";fqdn1="sipfed.online.lync.com:5061";source="fepool.federatedPartner.com"

    Thanks in Advance,

    Regards,

    AJ

  • Hi AJ.

The DNS SRV lookup for your domain seems to work, the hosting provider (sipfed.online.lync.com) is configured.

Apparently the partner (abc.com) has not allowed federation correctly with your domain (ourdomain.com). Make sure the partner has entered values correctly in the New-CsAllowedDomain cmdlet or the control panel.
