  • Question

  • Hello

    I the above possible?

We have our task sequence to bind to active directory, but i can see this binds way before all other install applications task start.

  • if you specified the domain name in the wizard, then the unattend.xml file will be edited and the domain join will take place in the "install operating system" task. if you want to defer that, then specify that you want to join a workgroup then add several "set task sequence variable" tasks at the end to specify the domain name and join account and then move the "recover from domain" task after them.

  • You will need to provide more details for anyone to answer this question.  Are you asking about delay domain join?

If you want to delay your domain join then remove Unattended Join from the specialize section of your unattend.xml.  And then move the Recover from Domain step to later in your task sequence.

Most important details are logs. If you are unsure how to post logs or where to find them then reference https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/

  • modifying MDT native scripts is not recommended and not supported. if you update your deployment share in the future, you will lose this modification as the script will be overwritten with a new one.

my solution doesn't involve modifying the unattend.xml or the built in scripts.
