Backend Server stops responding RRS feed

  • We currently have several exchange servers configured to use webmail via a central front-end server.  Most of the servers work no problem, but on a new set we just brought online (setup in a cluster), webmail will stop responding, seemingly at random.  You can get to the main logon screen on the front end server to enter logon credentials, but it will never load the mailbox you are trying to log in to.  After about 5 minutes, a blank internet explorer page will be displayed.  Rebooting the backend server will immeadiatly fix the problem, as well sometimes webmail starts responding again on it's own (usally after several hours).

    The new servers are running Server 2003 R2 Enterprise edition with Service pack 2 (for both windows and Exchange) installed.  Version of Exchange installed is 2003 Enterprise.  Has anyone else encountered issues like this?  I've seen some postings that suggest reinstalling the OS service pack, but that didn't seem to make any difference (although it didn't look like it copied many files over during the reinstall).
