Blank screen after successful remote desktop (RDP) session, Windows unable to present login screen

Question
-
I can remote desktop to my Windows 10 Enterprise (Preview) PC at work from my mac fine. However when I disconnect the remote desktop session, I find my PC screen is blank. I can press Win+P and screen projection option appears, but no option I chose restore the screen. Trying to login blindly did not help, nor pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.
At this stage if I remote desktop again from Mac I can operate the PC as per normal.
How can I resolve / investigate further?
Note: I use Remote Desktop Connection for Mac at home

This problem is now solved after today's Windows Update! I think the cause is this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3016725

hi...
If you RDP (remote desktop) to a Windows 7 or 8 PC and see only a black screen the computers involved appear to be arguing over screen resolution. The easy way to resolve it is to:
- Click on the black RDP windows (to select it) and press CTR-ALT-DEL to bring up the Windows Security screen and select LOG OFF, then log back in
- Start a new RDP client on your desktop but BEFORE you click CONNECT, click the SHOW OPTIONS link, click the DISPLAY tab and set the DISPLAY CONFIGURATION to a low resolution like 640×480.

I tried all screen resolution options but still, once I disconnect from my RDP session on Mac, my Windows PC screen is blank. I doubt it's related to screen resolution since it I believe RDP session screen res setting is different to local PC.
I think Windows is unable to present me with the login screen once I disconnect the RDP (logging off produced same outcome). It only gave me a mouse pointer and blank screen.
To add to my argument, if I press Win+P on that blank screen, I get screen projection menu on the right (this proof screen res on local is good), but none of this I chose restore the login screen
