Few Folders are left behind while 'copy profile' with MDT ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

I am seeing a very weird issue  with my deployments. I have folder called 'drivers' to store machine drivers locally on reference machine before capture, i have captured the image and can see this folder if i mount the WIM using DISM. Once image is deployed, surprisingly this particular folder 'Drivers' is not there. I am using 'Copy profile' while deploying image to the machine.

I am not sure why this folder is missed while deploy the image and when i mount the WIM, i can see it present on C drive. Any pointers? Does copy profile could do this?

  • Hi,

MDT cleans up C:\Drivers as part of the deployment. It's essentially used as a temporary cache during the setup phase. Have a look in ZTIDrivers.wsf for the line oFileHandling.RemoveFolder( sDestinationDrive & "Drivers")

You could comment the line out or my preference would be to use a folder other than Drivers for what you want. Perhaps "CustomDrivers" or basically anything other than C:\Drivers.
