  • Hi Jochen,

How do you want to use the list in another site? Display the data in the site?

If that is the case, you can export the list view web part and then add the web part to pages in the different site.

About how to export the list view web part, please follow the steps in the link below:

    https://chuvash.eu/2014/09/19/export-any-web-part-from-a-sharepoint-page/

After that, you need to update the WebId property in the exported .webpart file with the WebId of the site where you want to display the list view web part.

About how to get WebId of a site: http://techtrainingnotes.blogspot.sg/2014/02/sharepoint-2013-and-office-365-finding.html

Then we can edit a page in a site and then upload the exported web part to insert it into the page.

You can also save the list as a template and then upload the template to other sites. Then you can create new lists based on this template.

    Best Regards,

    Victoria

  • Hi Vicoria,

    thank you for your answer.

I want to edit and view the list from different sites. Exporting and importing the Webparts gets the user to the source site when editing.

What I am searching for is like adding a new list webpart to a site with the data source from another list on another site...

    Best regards

    Jochen

  • Hi Jochen,

If that is the case, then you need to create a custom form for editing the list items and submit the data back to the list with code behind.

    Best Regards,

    Victoria
