Conversion Errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

It is strange that I am getting errors converting between Unicode and non unicode data type. The conversion is Char(10) to Nvarchar(10). The source is Char(10) and we are changing to Nvarchar(10). In Data Conversion Transform, I switched from a Sting (DT_STR) to Unicode String(Dt_WSTR) and yet the error persist, "The value could not be converted because of a potential loss of data.". How do I overcome this error?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks for the help. As I changed from Nvarchar(10) to Nvarchar(20) it works like a miracle. Thank you

  • Try redirecting the error row to flat file or sql server table, then you will be able to analysis, which row is causing the issue.
