SharePoint 2007 SSO Service configuration error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am unable to configure Microsoft Single Sign On Service. My environment is as follow:

    SharePoint Server 2007 -
    Windows Server 2008

    Seperate SQL Server 2008

    Created Domain Account  domain/ssoservice
Local Admin on SharePoint Server and SQL Server
on SQL Server Granted dbcreator, Securityadmin and sysadmin
Default database master (also trie my SharePoint configuration database)

    on SharePoint server

Local Admin, member of WPGAdmin, and SHrePoint farm administrators

Used SharePoint Servce accounts panel to configure this account to run the Single SIgn on Service
Started the Single Sign on Service

Sharepoint Manage SIngle Sign on Service>manage

Entered the same domain account in both user fields

Logged on as that same user

Error........ The network path is not found

On the SQL Server, the error is  domain\ssoservice failed to open explicitly specified database.

Cannot seem to get past this error, assistance is greatly appreciated.

Name seems to resolve on both servers, as the windows event log sucessfullt authenticates the users

I have configured windows authentication and SQL authentication on the server.

My WFE is in a different domain than my SQL server (DMZ/LAN), and the domains are configured with a 1-way trust.
