MAP error RRS feed

    I am running a inventory on through MAP on around 1400 systems and out of them around 350 systems report back successfully but around 1000 systems report the error as either connection time out or machine not found ,i have checked the TCP /135 port through telnet and it was fine , could anybody just let me know that what could be other possible reasons that could lead to such a error, all the 1400 machines are windows based machines only so couldn't figure out the possible error.

                                 plzz help anybody

  • I would start by looking at the log file for more details on the failures.  The log file is usually found in %program files%\Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit\bin\log.  And instead of telnet, you should use WBEMTEST as shown in this video ( to test your WMI connectivity and visit the TechNet library for a helpful article called “WMI Isn’t Working!” ( for more tips regarding troubleshooting WMI connectivity.

    I would also recommend that you verify that all the necessary configurations have been made to the machines and possibly the firewall. You can find these listed in Appendix A of the Getting Started Guide.
