  • Hi,
    Though we don’t know why you need to replace the msg.exe (net send), for me, msg.exe (net send) is the best :) I assume that you are looking for some third party tools, in this case, you could refer to the following thread and see if the tools suggested there could work for you:

  • Hi

    thanks for your help. We already use the msg command. Now we need or we're looking for something with more configure possibilities and a better look and feel for the end users..

    do you now a reasonable solution?

  • You should check for Lync Server;

  • thanks Burak, I will check these out, but is Lync not more a chat/messanger program instead of an information/warning tool, like I could used the netsend command to inform the connected users in our network?

    I just want to allow myself and maybe some managers to inform there employers or colleagues in case of any important maintenance, system problem or alarm.

    I'm not looking for a messanger program, where anyone may send some messages.

  • Thank you guys.

    I'm getting closer to my final destination :). Exactly, I'm looking for a 3rd party alternative for the msg command.

    The link http://superuser.com/questions/885196/replacement-for-net-send

    is really helpful, I will check these out and see which possibilities we have.

    Our director wants to improve some processes, one of them ("small project") is the msg command. In his opinion the available functionality is ok, now we are looking for a tool with a user interface and some more configuration possibilities, which we can add to our cmd Line messages. The Best case would be if we would have a solution which can do both (generate a message by the user interface and some messages by cmd line.
