  • Hi sp,

If the windows 8 PC joined the domain? What resource do you access in the domain network?

Based on my understanding, if the windows 8 client is a domain member, the client can access resource in the domain network. When a computer connect a domain network, the Domain Controller must verify whether the computer belong to the domain at the beginning. The DC computer will check if the computer account exists, and if the password is correct. If the information which user provided can't pass the verification. The computer can't access the resource in the domain.

To join domain, at first, change the IP address of Preferred DNS server to the IP address of the DC. Then please follow steps below,

Log on the client as an administrator,

    Right-click Start, click System,

In the System page, click Change settings,

In the System Properties page, click Change,

In the Computer Name/Domain Changes page, Select Domain, enter the domain name, click OK.

    Best Regards,
