UtilizationCalc.vbs SNMP Device, Every 20 minutes, Event ID 21406 System.PropertyBagData. Errors found in output RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Anyone? I've read it happens with SCOM also but have found no solutions. Seems to happen with all SNMP Network Devices.

The process started at 3:46:36 PM failed to create System.PropertyBagData. Errors found in output:

C:\Program Files\System Center Essentials 2007\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 9\47937\UtilizationCalc.vbs(13, 19) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Overflow: 'CLng'

    Command executed: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cscript.exe" /nologo "UtilizationCalc.vbs" 100000000 -4255196172. 300 true

Working Directory: C:\Program Files\System Center Essentials 2007\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 9\47937\

One or more workflows were affected by this.

    Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.NetworkDevice.Interface.InboundUtilizationThresholdMonitor

    Instance name: 1.Router interface

    Instance ID: {0E94B2BF-C10F-CB48-B4F1-9A076C2DD290}

  • Hi,

Have you ever imported Dell mp? If it is, please delete it to see if it did the trick.

  • No never imported Dell MP or any other 3rd party MP. Simply SNMP device discovery.

  •

Does this occur for all SNMP devices you have discovered, or only that one particular device?

  • I cannot say since SCE is having serious SNMP issues. If I add any more SNMP devices, MonitoringHost processes start dying and cause Event ID 4000 and all rules get unloaded leaving a useless system.

See http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3705438&SiteID=17 for more information. Unresolved, ticket open with Microsoft.

Besides that, what has happened is the Event ID 21406 has stopped after 2 days and now I get Event ID 4506 every 10 minutes for the same devices.

See http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2230558&SiteID=17 for more information. Unresolved and nobody has had an idea for more than a year now.

Surely it must be fixed by now?

    4506 Error is:

Data was dropped due to too much outstanding data in rule "Microsoft.SystemCenter.NetworkDevice.IPSubnet.Discovery" running for instance "10.2.10.250" with id:"{0355A548-9C45-CCD1-61E2-C7DAAAE02A74}" in management group "SERVER_MG".

  •  Hi Hittin,

Based on our further research, it should be a bug in the newwork device monitoring library MP. We are investigating this problem. If there is any update, I will post it to let you know.

    Thanks.

  • When will a hotfix be posted for this? Still is an issue 6 months later.

    Also,

UtilizationCalc.vbs : Script received a speed less than or equal to zero, and can not calculate utilization

The Operations Manager Event Log on the Watcher Node for SNMP devices is full of this every second of the day.

I am NOT running 3rd party MP and yes I have the latest MP's.

More people talking about same problem here.

I first mentioned this problem with Event ID 4000 problem many months ago. See
