Windows 8 shut down problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I am experiencing a weird problem. Suddenly i can't shut down my windows 8 pro system. I tried everything i found on the other topics but nothing worked. If the computer starts i can restart it but if i press shut down then nothing happens and can't restart it too.

    Sorry for my bad English.

  • Look if WinInit.exe causes a high CPU usage.

If this is the case, open regedit, go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\

    and delete everything except
    autocheck autochk *

    from BootExecute

check the registry value. Of this doesn't fix it, run the xperf command that I posted in the linked topic.
