Create ISO of Windows Server 2012 R2 for ESXi 5.5 RRS feed

  • Hello great and powerful tech community!

I've tried to find previous posts about this, and have only found 1 or 2 relative posts. Even so they did not thoroughly answer my confusion, so here we go...

I am running a physical version of Windows Server 2012 R2, and would like to create an ISO image of this OS. I would like to use this ISO to boot onto my two other physical ESXi 5.5 servers. The problem is I cannot seem to understand how to create an ISO of Win 2012 R2. I have looked at the following sites:

    (1) https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn293200.aspx
    (2) http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2009/10/06/how-to-run-a-sysprep-and-capture-task-sequence-from-mdt-2010.aspx
    (3) http://www.vkernel.ro/blog/sysprep-and-capture-a-windows-image-with-mdt-2012

Of those three websites I have (I think) properly downloaded MDT. I am not sure because I do not see a GUI that is provided with it anywhere in my desktop, but when I search for it I get a command line. I have followed the instructions on the first site to make an ISO of WinPE, but I am not too sure what to do after that. If anyone has any ideas I would love to know!
