Active Directory System Discovery - Polling Schedule RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sorry for all the questions lately, but one more... We have turned on AD System Discovery for just a few test OU's. Under the Polling Schedule, I have it set to 3 days, yet when I moved a computer account into one of the OU's being filtered, SCCM found it immediately. So I am confused. Polling schedule is set for 3 days, yet it seems instant. Could I get some clarification on this?

    Thanks.

  • You have probably the delta discovery enable, this will poll the ou's every 5 minutes by default

  • Oh yes, I do, sorry about that. Makes sense though. Is this a good thing to have enabled?

  • Hi,

Yes it is a great thing as it will only capture chagnes since the last sync so it is much faster and less work for the server. Together with Incremental updates of collection memberships you will be able to do a full update of collecitons as well. It is really fast.

    Regards,
    Jörgen
