  • Hi techcoor.

The Microsoft Knowledge Base article 916251 addresses both the 0x80246008 and 0x80246007 error codes: read it to know how to troubleshoot those errors.
The Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool can be manually downloaded and executed: read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 890830 to know how to do that.

    Bye.

  • What is the best way to find a particular Microsoft Knowledge Base Article? Is there a particular website to go to or a particular search term.

The Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool is not available for downloading at Microsoft Knowledge Base article 890830.

I did a search on downloading Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and came up with https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/malicious-software-removal-tool-details.aspx Windows-KB89830-x64-V5.52. Which I downloaded and ran. However, Windows update would not run and gave another Microsoft Knowledge Base Article saying that other updates were being installed.  I decided to reboot.

Microsoft Updates reports No important updates available.

Thanks for reporting that: it looks like the download links in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 890830 are broken.
You can download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/malicious-software-removal-tool-details.aspx.

    Bye.

  • Once the computer rebooted everything was normal. You may chose this one.
