Transport rule affect Exchange server CPU performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Is there any difference enabling mail forwarding from outlook client transport rule & Exchange server transport rule?

Looks there might be significant exchange server CPU performance affect if we enable exchange server transport rule. if we enable outlook client transport rule, how it works by avoiding server performance?

    any help

  • ok fine. but, will be there any difference if we enable outlook client transport rule instead of exchange server rule?

what will be biggest advantage by choosing outlook client transport rule for mail forwarding

The only advantage is that the client can create it w/o involvement of an admin. Otherwise, transport rules are better. If automatic forwarding outside of the org is blocked, the OUtlook client rule will not work

Why do you think there is significant CPU performance issues with a transport rule? If your servers are sized correctly, there is nothing to worry about.
