Microsoft .Net Framwork 2.0 crashes windows XP sp3 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a machine that we cannot rebuild for alot of legacy issues. We use Pivot a IM client that runs on the .Net framwork v 2.0 and some other applications. The user came in on one day and all the .Net framwork applications are crashing on the machine with the following errors in the Event Viewer.

I have used the >Net Framwork removal tool to uninstall the clients , deleted all the files that were left over from c:\windows\net framwork.

Reinstalled all the framworks from MS website but I cannot fix the issues.

  • There is an issue with the IM program. See if the publisher has a fixed version.

If not, look to migrate to another IM program that is maintained.

Its not the application It happens on any .Net 2.0 application , the weird thing is I can right click the application and "Run As" administrator and it works fine. But if I log in as administrator and run it regular it does not but I can run as administrator logged in as administrator and it also works.
