AVICode: Custom and WCF performance counters in SEViewer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I configured AVICode SEViewer and Agent at my end. I wanted to know how can I get WCF and custom performance counters reported in SEViewer. In the Intercept Management Console I can see that I can select performance counters what I want to be reported. But, in the Intercept Management Console I don't find WCF and Custom performance counters listed so that you can configure it to be reported in SEViewer.

    Please help me on this.

  • Hi Manoj,

here is what you need to do:

    - Close Intercept MMC Console

    - Open "PerfCounterMonitor.config" file (program files\avicode\intercept\Agent\v5.7.491\Configuration\Standard)

    - Scroll almost down to the bottom of that file until you see "</ss:counterDefinitions>" tag

    - Follow the pattern you see for other counter definitions and add the definitions you need(next id should be 1350 - those definitions are numbered in the increasing order, "edit" should be set to "true" for your counters)

    - Save the file

    - Open Intercept MMC Console

    - Add your counters in the MMC console (you should be able to see them in the console once you've updated the file)

New counters will start showing up in the SEViewer automatically, without any changes on the SEViewer side. You may have to wait for 10-15 minutes before it happens after you apply configuration changes in the Intercept MMC Console, though.

    Thank you,

    Alex Shlega

  • Either I don't understand your questions of you've posted in wrong forum. Is this related to Configmgr somehow?

  • Hey Manoj,

What version are you using? If you start the config in Operations Manager first then you can make changes to after in the Intercept Management Console located on the Agent. You can add custom perf counters in the SEViewer, this is not done in the Intercept Management Console. Hope this helps else shout me back. simon @ skinner.fr

  • Hi Simon

Thanks for your reply. I just installed AVIcode Intercept Agent and AVIcode Intercept SE-Viewer (version 5.7). Do I need to install Operations Manager also? Will it help me to configure WCF and Custom Counters also?
