Incorrect duration on Team Planner view RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a user who is using the team planner view in MSP 2010 and we're encountering a peculiar issue.

For example say if a project is supposed to end on 11/09/2012 it is correctly showing in the duration that its finish date is 11/09/2012 for other views (e.g. Gantt Chart) but in the Team Planner view it is showing that it is ending on 11/12/2012, avoiding the week end. What could potentially cause this issue? Need anyone's advice on this.

Keep in mind that the Team Planner view shows assignments rather than tasks.  Here is what I would recommend your user do to confirm what he/she sees in the Team Planner view:

    1.  Apply the Resource Usage view.
    2.  Zoom the timescale to the Weeks Over Days level of zoom.
    3.  Locate the resource and task assignment in question from the Team Planner view.
    4.  Scroll the timephased grid to the time period for the selected task assignment and examine when the assignment ends.

Does the task assignment in the Resource Usage view end on the same day as shown in the Team Planner view?  Let us know and we will try to help.

  • Thanks so much for our reply. The user found that the task assignment does not end on the same day in both the Team planner and Resource usage view. What can we do to correct this?

  • Hi Dale,

There is only one resource assigned to the tasks but the resource is a local resource.

Well, without actually seeing the project and the task/assignment in question, I am not sure I can comment any further as to the cause.  If you are interested, feel free to send me the project and I will try to determine what is going on.  You can figure out my e-mail address from below:
