Skype: Contacts, Unknown preference RRS feed

  • Question

  • My original post on answers.microsoft (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_sfb-mso_win10-mso_o365b/skype-for-business-shows-unknown-preference-people/c018e0f3-4032-47e8-943d-424db816a290)

As you can see on the image below.

Joel is Searching for "Mikkel" in his contact list.

Yet it shows him EVERYONE on his contact list whos preference in unknown, BEFORE it shows the actual search, which you can the see in the bottom of the picture.

What is the cause of this?

    Skype is on premise.

Skype has been reinstalled via office 365

The issue is only on 1 pc

If the user logs in on anther PC, the issue is gone, but Skype for business will NOT load any contacts from Outlook, ONLY the companies internal contactlist.

Sip folder and files within Tracing have been deleted.

Does anyone have any idea to what this could be?

  • Hi,

Based on your description, you use SFB on premise and the lasted SFB client, the issue only happen to the specific PC, so in my opinion, it may be a client issue.

Please try to do a clean boot on the affected computer:

On SFB server, please check if there are any event IDs in the application log, and you can run the command below to update the address book

    Update-CsAddressbook
