sharepoint migrator tool RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Currently I am looking for a tool that provides me the flexibility of migrating the stuffs internally or on the same environment. A tool which can help me to sort out the problem of moving bunch of files from one sharepoint site to another sharepoint site on same the same environment. Note that I am using sharepoint 2007.

  • Hi Gaurav,

The option that I've used previously is Metalogix Migration Manager (http://www.metalogix.com/Products/Migration-Manager-for-SharePoint/SharePoint-Upgrade.aspx), which works brilliantly for me.

Quest also have a tool that'll achieve this for you but I've not used it recently.

How much data are you looking to move?

  • You can look at several vendors, try going over to www.sharepointreviews.com to see them all.

I have used MetaVis, AvePoint, Quest. There are a few more vendors as well.

  • I'll second MetaLogix.

We're mostly a Quest shop, but are looking to move away from them.

  • All third party tools out there will have some unique features and pricing standards based on the number of features and support they provide. For SharePoint migration needs, you can migrate Vyapin Dockit Migrator. This SharePoint migration Tool has so many out of the box migration features and migrates data fast.  Download the free trial version of this tool here - https://www.vyapin.com/download/dockit

  • Do not rely on a tool for SharePoint migration. Use the services offered by trained professionals for migration.

Sometimes those tools make the migrated data corrupted. So use the services offered by the partners that migrate your data to the desired platform.
