Send Connector (Internet Email)

    Question

  • Hello,

I have Exchange 2010 & Exchange 2013 infrastructure and both have separate DC's on different sites. The query is if we remove send connector from Exchange 2010 then is it possible to send internet emails through Exchange 2013?

Assuming firewall rules are set correctly, you should be able to send mail out to Exchange 2013.

  • yes this works. but you Exchange 2013 server must be allowed to use TCP/25 outgogin so that it can send new Mails.

Please think about your incoming traffic to.

  • Hi,

It's possible if send connector is configured properly in Exchange Server 2013.

  • Thanks,

But my question is changed now...

I have Exchange 2010 & Exchange 2013 infrastructure and both have different AD site . We configured send connector which is included the Exchange 2010 & Exchange 2013 servers in send connector . The query is that if we remove the exchange 2010 servers from the send connector after that if Exchange 2010 will send emails to internet then it will be routed to Internet via Exchange 2013 or not?

Sure. That setting is just choose Mailbox servers that will be used to send mail to the Internet via the Client Access server. You can try to disable send connector in Exchange 2010 temporarily and see the results.

  • Hi,

Sure, you can remove the Exchange 2010 server from the send connector and all outgoing mails should go through the 2013 server

That mail will get routed to Exchange 2013 in the other site to g out the internet.
