Clustered Shared volume to small

Question

Scope creep! So when i sized my original hyper-v cluster it was for 20 guests at certain sizes, I created a 600gb clustered shared volume that was double the suggested usage. Now the scope is 62 guests and the guests are larger than expected. I am using an MD3000i so I don't seem to have the ability to enlarge an existing virtual disk (there isn't any space on this diskgroup anyway) so I created a new larger virtual disk on the array. What is the most graceful way I can move the current data to the new larger disk?

Hi,
You can export the VMs to the large disk and then import them again. You can also use the Quick Storage Migration in System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2.
For more information, you can refer to:

That works perfectly, though the guests seem to be offline when moving, is there no way to have them use live migration when migrating their storage?Wednesday, April 6, 2011 10:18 PM

Hi,
I am sorry that I can’t understand your description “is there no way to have them use live migration when migrating their storage?” clearly, please elaborate it.
