How WSUS 4.0 support Windows server 2016 client? RRS feed

    We have WSUS 4.0 installed in Windows Server 2012 R2， recently we installed a new server with Windows server 2016, but in WSUS console, the OS column shows "Windows (Version 10.0)", it is same with other real Windows 10 machine.

    So how WSUS can support Windows server 2016? For Windows 10, I installed the patch KB3095113, how about Windows server 2016?

    Hi Mike,

    I tested in my lab and got the same result with you, windows server 2016 shows as win10, as far as I'm concerned, this is due to WSUS server 2012 R2 haven't recognize server 2016, while other functions are well.

    If it doesn't effect the normal updates deliver, then, we may ignore it.

    Besides, it's also recommended to install KB3159706(with manual steps) on the WSUS server to upgrade your WSUS server to the latest version.

    hi, i have the same problem, WSUS doesn't detect servers on Windows Server 2016, it shows Windows (version 10). I installed patch KB3159706 and did everything like in article. 

    How to solve this problem?
