Exchange 2007 Custom Attribute RRS feed

  • Question

    Hi,

I do have 6000 users in my environment. For address book we are using some custom attributes. Now we wanted to use some more custom attribute. But now I forgot which are the attributes in used. And it's difficult to go EMC and select the filter on each attribute. Can I have any power shell query which can show me how many customer attributes are in use.

  • One option would be to dump all mailboxes and customattributes into a CSV using powershell:

    ex:

    Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited | select displayname, customattribute* | export-csv C:\filename.csv -notype

I used this for my script looking for customattribute6.

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited | select displayname
     customattribute6 | export-csv C:\all.csv -notype

It gathered hidden (blank attributes) and real users data from shared and user mailboxes.
