Lync 2013 - No gallery view RRS feed

  • Hello, some of our Lync 2013 users cannot select gallery view in a meeting (no such option). All users are with same Global policy. They are using Office 2013 Pro Plus. It happens only on some computers. All users are external (scaled edge topology).

  • Please check if all users are hosted on Lync 2013 Front-End Servers and check if no User Specific conferencing policies have been applied

    As Johan said, please check if any per-user policy applied as it may cover the global policy.

  • There is no user policy. It happens only on some computers. Same users on other computers have gallery view. These computers are in different external locations.

  • There is more news. I said to that user to bring his pc to me, so i could test it. Now i see that galery view is working in our office, but not working it other office. How could it be related to location? Bandwidth? Firewall? Group policy?

  • Do you have site or pool level Conferencing Policies?  

    Are you using Call Admission Control or QoS?

  • You are not using the Lync Basic client (it does not support Gallery View)

    You might have Site based Policies (You can view the users effective policy via control panel - go to the user page and view the conferencing policy and verify which policy actually applies and verifiy if Gallery View is enabled)

  • It is somehow related to location, because lync on same computer with same user acts differently in different locations.

  • Hi,

    I had similar issue. I my case It was because of difference between client and server versions.

    In our environment there is Lync server 2013 + RU1

    Clients 15.0.4420.1017 and  15.0.4481.1000 do not have this issue, but client 15.0.4517.1504 do have.
