Federation Delegations Exchange 2010 SP1 error cmdlet get-federationinformation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

    I have a problem getting an organsisation relationsship between two companys working. No Free / Busy working.

    The trust to MFG is working from both companies, the check about the settings for the organisation relationship over the emc was successful. Free /Busy is activated. I`m using for both domains an selfsign certificate and it has installed correctly on the Exchange Servers. There are no error when I call the owa site. Autodiscover is also working correctly.

    My problem is that when I try to get the federation information from the federation partner through the powershell (get-federationinformation domain.name -verbose) I get the same error on both exchange server for each domain:

    Check from domain2:

    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-FederationInformation domain1.de -verbose

    AUSFÜHRLICH: [13:51:34.253 GMT] Get-FederationInformation : Aufgelöste aktuelle Organisation: .

    [0]=exchangedelegation.domain1.de;.;Details=(Type=Success;Url=https://autodiscover.domain1.de/autodiscover/auto

    discover.svc;);

    .

    Verbundinformationen konnten nicht von der externen Organisation empfangen werden.

    AUSFÜHRLICH: [13:51:34.596 GMT] Get-FederationInformation : Verarbeitung von & wird beendet

    Check from domain1:

    [PS

    ] C:\Windows\system32>Get-FederationInformation domain2.de -verbose

    ...verwendet: *.outlook.com.

    AUSFÜHRLICH: [13:50:44.616 GMT] Get-FederationInformation : Der Discoveryprozess hat folgende Ergebnisse zurückgegeben:

    Type=Failure;Url=https://autodiscover.domain2.de/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc;Exception=Die angeforderte Domäne

    domain2.de ist in folgender Antwort nicht vorhanden:<array length=1>

        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : AB64190D,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.GetFederationInformation

    The error means that the requested domain (domain1.de or domain2.de) is not included in the answer.

    That`s where I get stuck

    Has anyone an idea what I could do to get it work?

    Greetings Felix

  • Hi,

    Does autodiscover work? Check the autodiscover stauts by running the Test Email Auto-configuration.

    If it fails, please check the IIS log and let us know the detailed error code.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

    OK. Let's try accessing the EWS url via IE on a client machine and see if there are any error code?

    Thanks,

    Simon Wu

  • Hello Simon,

    ews is accesable via web. From outside and inside.

    The Error may result from the patch level from the exchange, its only sp1. So the next step for me is to get the local administrator installing the missing rollout Updates. With RU 3 oder 4 something has been changed that could solve the Problem.

    We will see :)

    Thanks for your help. I give you more information when alle the RU´s are installed

    Greetings Felix
