Some way to share Skype for Business groups? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know if there's a way to share S4B groups with other S4B users?  It would be similar to the way you can share a distribution group you created in your Outlook contacts folder with other Outlook users.  For that you could send the group in an email as an attachment, and then the recipient could drag the attached group into their own contacts folder.

We've not been able to find a similar method, or even know if it's possible, with S4B.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

Base on my understanding, from Skype for Business Server side, only the Group\Distribution group list can be added. As Anoop said, the group which create by Client side couldn't be shared to others.

You may need to contact MSDN forum and there are more SFB SDK experts will help to check if it possible with SFB SDK.

  • Hi,

This requirement of sharing the group to other colleague is not possible via Skype for business. However you can contact the Admin and get a Group created from Server side if it is somethink like a "Team Group" which is mandatory for all members. Personal groups cannot be shared as mentioned above. You may export the group details by simply right clk the group and send email> copy the details to a Notepad and send across to the other party> he can manually add these people to a group in his client. (considering sip and email add are same for all members in the group)

    Hope this helps.
