Word 2010 - Footnotes line RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Just wondering if it's possible to increase the length of the line that appears just above numbered footnotes. My client wants it to go right across the page.

    Thanks, Viv

  • Switch to Draft view.

On the References tab of the ribbon, click Show Notes.

From the dropdown above the footnote area, select Footnote Separator.

You can't make the existing line longer, but you can copy and paste it several times.

Take care not to introduce extra paragraph ends while doing so.

As an alternative to duplicating the existing footnote separator, you can replace it with a paragraph border or a shape.

  • Hi

Just tried doing 3 hyphens and pressing Enter and it worked a treat. Had to delete the original line.
