Microsoft Voice Recorder ver 10.1607.1891.0 - any USB input?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Lenovo U510 running Win 10 Home version 1511.  I have a bunch of old microcassete tapes (and associated working recorders/players) that I would like to copy onto my hard drive.  I purchased something called a Prudent Way USB 2.0 Sound Adapter (PWI-USB-A71) which intermediates between the cassette earphone jack and one of the USB ports on the laptop.  I brought up the Microsoft Voice Recorder version 10.1607.1891.0, started it, hooked up the adapter to the USB port, the cassette to the adapter via earphone jack, and pushed Play on the cassette. However, even though I tried lots of variations, I could not get the Voice Recorder to capture the cassette recording being played.  Any MS products (apps or devices) that might permit this data transfer?  Or, any non-MS products that might work?  Thx.

  • Hi robert keeler,

The main purpose is to transfer the old microcassete tapes to digital format and backup it, right?
