.NET 4.5.2 SCCM Installation Failing - Requiring Setting "Run installation as 32-bit process..." RRS feed

  • Question

  • .NET 4.5.2 is failing on the majority of our Win7 64 bit workstations. The log dd_NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU_decompression_log.txt shows that the installation stops at the extraction of the binaries (as below). Manually initiating the installation from Software Center gets the installation to go through however. Also, checking the SCCM application option "Run installation and uninstall program as 32-bit process on 64-bit clients" under "programs" tab gets the installation to go through fine. Any idea why this setting is needed for the installation?
