Skype for Business online Audio Conferencing pay per minute license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Current Infrastructure - Skype for Business Online only.

We are planning to purchase and assign audio conference pay per minute license for our users (with communication credit). Can anyone please help me to understand the below points.

    1. If we have audio conference pay per license, no need to have a separate communication credit license. Is it correct understanding ?

    2. As per Microsoft documentation, communication credit is not available in India (we have huge user base in India). But our tenant is in UK. So which country do we need to consider as part this. Is it UK or India ? If it is UK, our India user will not face any issue.

    Regards,

    AJ

  • Hi Alias Jacky,

For your first question, your understanding is incorrect. According to the official document, Pay-per-minute requires your organization to have Communications Credits enabled with a license assigned to each user in order for Audio Conferencing to work. You could find more details from the official document below:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/skype-for-business-and-microsoft-teams-add-on-licensing/audio-conferencing-pay-per-minute

For your second question, based on my experience, if your tenant is in UK and all the India users are homed on the tenant which is in UK, the users in India will be considered as part of UK, will not face any issue.

    Best Regard,
    Evan

  • Thanks for your quick response Evan.

I am fine with the second answer. But still confused on this first one.

Do we really need a communication credit license for each user when we have "audio conferencing pay-per-minute" license for each user ?

    Regards,

    AJ
