Microsoft Exchange OWA 2007 - Spell Checker "apply to all" RRS feed

  • Question

  • We recently switched Hosted Exchange providers and moved from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007.  With our old provider, OWA gave us an option to apply a particular spelling correction to all similar misspelled words in an email.  For example, one could type "i'm" throughout an entire email, and then at finish apply the spelling correction "I'm" to all instances of "i'm".  This new OWA does not have that option.  Is there something that I'm missing?  Is this specific to Exchange 2007 or to our Exchange provider?  Is there an add-on that will give us this option?  I'm not very technologically savvy, but I'm trying to clear up an issue for my managers.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Jamie,

Which version you are use: Outlook Web Access Light or Outlook Web Access Premium?
The function fo "Spelling" can only be used in Premium.

And you must run in IE 6 or later to achieve this feature.

Please make sure you don't run in "Light".
For auto-spelling in OWA, it just let you know which is not correct. It cannot correct itself.

So I think you should ask your Hosted Exchange providers for help.

  • I am using Outlook Web Access Premium in IE7.  The function I am looking for is available in Outlook.

When you select "spellcheck" in Outlook, it brings up a spellcheck box with the following options: resume, ignore all, add to dictionary, change, change all, and autocorrect.  When you select "spellcheck" in OWA, it simply highlights the misspelled words.  Is there a way to get that box to appear in OWA?  I want access to the "change all" button.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

You cannot get this function in OWA by default. You have better ask your hosted providers for help.
And you can find the differences between the two client applications(Oulook & OWA):
