Populating a column based on a choice from another column in sharepoint 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I have two sharepoint lists one of which is like a look up table showing one column with the description of the job title (ie Vice President) and the next column shows the corresponding job code (ie 11111).  This means that VP has a job code of 11111.  I have another list where my users input HR data about themselves.  I would like a column that is populated with the job titles (ie Vice President) from the lookup table and based on the choice from the drop down it will fill in the job number (ie 11111) from the next column in the look up table.  I have sharepoint designer 2007 installed but I am a novice.  Is this out of my reach or can this be done?
