Problems printing collated web documents after the upgrade from Internet Explorer 8 to 11. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Prior to the IE upgrade from 8 to 11 we could collate documents, now we can't on certain HP laser jet printers. The option to collate is still there and can still be selected, it's just ignored.  Only observed this collating problem on HP LJ 1606 and M201dw printers. No problems collating on older or new HP printers. I've tried contacting HP tech support but they say it's an IE problem.  I think it may have something to do with an Add-on called MeadCo Script X but trying the latest version of that add-on downloaded from their website didn't resolve the problem.

  • Hi,

You can start IE in noAddons or use InPrivate mode to test if an installed Addon is the cause of the Print problem.

You can test if the problem is caused by an IE update by using a different desktop program to print a collated document to the same printer on your network.

Upgrading from IE8 to IE11 also involves updates to other windows components and in turn hardware vendor driver updates. You might try running windows updates on a test machine to see if the problem disappears.
