Mouse and keyboard sometomes do not work with USB ports and often with a kvm switch RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am double booting Windows 7 and XP Pro. The mouse and keyboard work fine in Windows 7 but not in XP. If I try different USB slots I can sometimes get them to work.

I am using a KVM switch (Trendnet) and I cannot get either the mouse or the keyboard to work on either computer. Both computers are using Window 7 with XP Pro.

I remeber once the problem was soolve by deleteing the USB port in the device manager. Will this work? If not, what should I do?

  • deleting the USB port in device manager, is a way to reinstall the default USB drivers again when windoes restarts. That will work

if there exists any special USB drivers from your pc manufacturer, then install those by not allowing windows install its.
