Remote desktop and Vista Home Premium RRS feed

  • Question

  • Will I still be able to connect via Remote Desktop to other systems?  I am currently running XP Professional and use Remote Desktop much of the time.  Before I install the new Vista Home Premium which I have just purchased, I have two questions:
    1. Can I revert back to XP if I need to?
    2. Will I still be able to use Remote Desktop to access other systems?

  • 1.  Yes.  You'll need to wipe the Vista installation, and perform a clean install of XP (you can't do an 'in-place downgrade', no matter what versions of Windows you're dealing with.)

    2.  Yes.  Just as it was with XP Home, Vista Home Premium still contains the Remote Desktop client - you can RDP into other machines; you just can't RDP into it.
