  • Question

  • Can it be done? Specifically, I'm the sole user on my computer, and thus don't have a need for identity verification. Thus, when I turn my computer on in the morning, is there a way to skip the username/password screen?

  • There's an easier way:
Open a CMD window (click start, type CMD in the box)
In the black box, type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2
In the screen that appears, UNTICK "Users must enter a password..."
It will ask who should log on - give it your name and password as it knows them.

  • Have you tried looking through the Group Policy editor for any setting like this?

Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press enter to get into the Group Policy editor. Be careful what setting you change in here though!
