Remove the Administrator account causes computer to reboot on second account logon RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are in the process of setting up a Steady State PC for use in a shared area. We are using the welcome screen. We only want this to have 1 logon shown (a guest account) , so are selecting the 'Remove the Administrator user name from the Welcome screen' option.

Once this option has been selected, the computer will boot up and log into the guest account automatically. If we want to log off and back on as either the guest account or the administrator, the computer automatically reboots at login.

Does anyone know what is causing this behaviour?

  • Hi,

According to your description. I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot this issue:

    1 Open Windows SteadyState

2 Click user account you have created within “User Settings”

3 Remove the option “Restart computer after log off”

    4 Click “OK”

If the same issue persists, you can try to add a new user to see if the same issue occurs.

    Hope it helps.
