Moving a Project from one Project Server 2013 to another Project Server 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering if it is possible to move a project and all of its related content (Project Site, Documents, etc.) from one Project Server 2013 farm to another Project Server 2013 farm.

I know I can move all from one to another, but I only want to move certain ones. Is it possible without paying for a third party software to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Yes you could do this manually. Export out the project as an MPP file using Project Pro then export out the Project site using the SharePoint export API (PowerShell or complied code). Then import the Project to the other Project Server system, don't create a project site when you publish the project. Now import the project site export into the other Project Server farm using the SharePoint import API then relink the site to the imported project from the connect sites page in PWA Settings, There is a tool that can be used to help with the project site export and import - https://spdeploymentwizard.codeplex.com/
