Doubt FCI Server with RMS Connetor RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I am implementing an RMS Connector server and a File Server on a customer. This customer his environment is very critical and must justify any change in their environment. My doubt is that the File Server needs access to internet.
    Thank you so much

For this new question, the same preqs section for the RMS connector includes as a requirement "Access to the Internet via a firewall (or web proxy) that does not require authentication."  You might also want to check general requirements for Azure RMS (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn655136.aspx) where the last row in the first table covers "Infrastructure that supports connectivity to the Internet and dependent cloud services".

Timeouts are a classic symptom of traffic being blocked by firewalls, so I suspect you're on the right path to check this configuration.

  • The file server computer doesn't need access to the Internet but the server running the RMS connector needs access to the Internet (and these have to be on different computers - I know this from experience!).

Does that answer your question? Prerequisites documented here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn375964.aspx#BKMK_Prereqs
