Mark as unread problem - Delayed when opened, instant when mail closed. RRS feed

  • Dear all,

    At our company have a problem with the "marked as unread" option on a shared mailbox.

    Marked as unread can take up to 30 seconds or even minutes.

    After testing I found out that "Mark as Unread" works instant when you close the e-mail.

    When you actually read the e-mail it takes way to long before the "mark as unread" kicks in.

    So for now our sales people are opening and closing the e-mail to have the "mark as unread" to kick in.

    We need this feature to work properly so our sales team are not handling the same e-mail as their co-workers.

    We had a couple of incidents that a customer was replied twice by our employees.

  • What do you mean "Mark as Unread" works instant when you close the e-mail?

    Right click the email and select the option? Have you tried to click Ctrl+U to mark it as unread?

  • When you open the e-mail, the mail is not getting marked as unread.

    But when you close the e-mail, then the mail is instantly getting marked as unread.

    For our support desk the mail need to be marked as unread as soon an employee opens an e-mail.

    Nobody knows what can cause this problem?

  • Still no reply, I was hoping somebody could give us any useful feedback.

    I will try to explain it again (short version) and hope people understand the problem.

    We have 1 shared mailbox, not created with the shared mailbox feature but a full exchange account added manually at our employees.

    When one of our employees open an e-mail, the mail does not get marked as unread.

    This only kicks in after a long time or when the e-mail is closed.

    Employees currently open, close and open the e-mail to mark the e-mail as unread so other employees wont handle the same e-mail.
