  • Connecting from my Vista workstation using RDP to Windows 2003 Server (X32 and X64) sometimes fail and the only solution is to reboot the server. Is there another permanent fix?

  • Hi,

it impossibel to determine the root cause of this issue with the limited information you provide.

In general, most RDP issues are network related. Check the eventlogs of both machines to find out whether a related event was logged. If so, this may helpt o determine the cause and/or solution.

Also check your connection stability, dns name resolution and ip and firewall configuration.

Please post back with the error message you encounter when the connection fails and as much info about the error and your network config you can get hold on. (ipconfig, ping, tracert,...)
